History
After canvassing the newly established suburb of Holden Hill North, Robyn Ransom began Calisthenic lessons in the activity room of the Holden Hill North Primary School in February 1982. Robyn, a previous member of the Seaton Calisthenics Club, had moved into the new suburb and could see a need for the sport in this growing population. The club held its first concert in the Tea Tree Gully Civic Centre with approximately 45 members.
As the suburb grew so did the numbers in the school, the main source of membership for the Calisthenic club, members staying on after school for early afternoon lessons in the activity room.
The club was affiliated with the Calisthenics Association of South Australia (CASA) and took part in the state championships beginning in "H" Grade with Tinies, Sub Juniors and Juniors.
As word of the club spread an Intermediate section was added, and more young girls joined the club, Mrs Gloria Magnus began coaching the Tinies after assisting Robyn in the early days of the club.
Mrs Meredith Phillis taught the Intermediate Team, and in 1984 to help the now established club rise up the grading system of the State Association a Senior Team was established, coached by Mandy Jones and was made up of mums of the younger members, sisters and friends with a calisthenic back ground. The first senior team was very successful winning the Aggregate in their first year.
Under the guidance of Robyn Ransom the club became successful in all age groups and moved steadily up the grades.
